Improving leadership skills among lawyers will not just create a positive ripple in law firms, but also enhance interaction with clients and colleagues. The Bar Council, in collaboration with the Association of Women Lawyers, Malaysia (“AWL”), is conducting a half-day workshop to develop your skills to become a better leader in your law firm, as well as a more effective and empowered member of the legal community.

Gender bias still prevails in the legal profession, says study

KUALA LUMPUR: Fifty-one percent of the members of the Malaysian Bar are female but according to a baseline study conducted by the Association of Women Lawyers (AWL), gender bias is still prevalent within the legal industry.

The study which took eight months to complete was commissioned in 2013 to ascertain the working conditions of male and female lawyers and also to examine the level of gender biasness and sexual harassment within the legal profession...

AWL-KLBC Seminar: "Women & the Law"

AWL in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (KLBC) had successfully organised a seminar on "Women & the Law", held at the KLBC auditorium on 7th March, 2014.
